"Caprice - a sudden, unpredictable condition, change, or series of changes
The images are part of an ongoing exploration with a handmade camera box, forming the series Caprices. The box, both a camera and a darkroom, allowed to create and develop images immediately.
Each image is a creation by unpredictable changes: the disruption in chemicals, the movement of thoughts and elements of nature —light, water, wind, and earth all in motion. The developing proces became as much as a mystery as the rivers crossed. One by one the box transformed the environment, internal and external, fragile and absorbent, into stillness. After two months of walking and sleeping beside the box across the Balkans, it became more of an anchor than a camera. By revealing more than I could see, the box turned blurred visions into clarity, as resting images in my hand.
